Operation Christmas Child
For 10 years folks at Lister Hill have generously pack shoebox gifts to bring great joy and the Good News of Jesus Christ to children around the world. Last year we became a Church Collection Centre for Leeds, receiving hundreds of boxes from across the local area. Packing boxes is fun to do & its great to do as a family, with friends, at work or as a group. Many of our boxes last year went to Ukraine & surrounding countries bringing joy to children living in difficult times.
To find out how to pack a box click HERE, for ideas & practical help making up a box. Want to know what to put in click HERE. You can use an old shoe box & wrap it in Christmas paper or collect a pre printed one from church. Once you have chosen who you are making a box for (Girl, Boy, Age), gather your gifts & fill the box & then bring it back to church. Please note these have to be handed in by the 19th November so they can start their long journey. (Please note do not include Toothpaste, sweets, lotions and liquids)
New this year we are having a Shoe Box Packing Party on Saturday 11th November 10am - noon. We will supply the box, just bring some gifts to put in a box, we will have some extras to put in, you can create a card, even send a picture taken on the day ..plus you can have a free drink & cake whilst packing !
We are opening church at additional times for box drop offs as follows:- Monday 13th, Wednesday 15th, Friday 17th Nov 7:00-9:00pm Saturday 18th Nov 9:30am-12:00noon
