House groups are a really important part of life at Lister Hill. Small groups from the church meet midweek in people’s homes to see what the Bible means for us today. Sometimes this is linked to the sermon from the previous Sunday. The groups go from year 7 upwards.

It’s all about sharing life together.

Want to know Jesus better, and others? Join a house group!

We also have 'fellowship bands' which are groups of 3-4 exploring what God is saying to each one of them, and getting to know him ever more deeply. They are not a rival to house groups but more of a complement. Find out more about bands here.

We have a prayer group every Tuesday evening too. A dedicated group gather in a home to pray for specific areas of church life. This includes people and things known to us but also others. If you would like them to pray for anything or anyone specific please email your prayer requests to the church office, or submit them in the box in the church corridor labelled 'prayer requests'. They can be anonymous if you'd prefer - God knows what's going on after all! This group have been meeting for years and they are a reminder to us all of the importance of prayer (for if we don't ask, why should we expect?). As the old hymn 'What a Friend we Have in Jesus' says:

"Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?

We should never be discouraged - take it to the Lord in prayer!"

"For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them."

(Jesus said this in Matthew chapter 18 verse 20)
